  • The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System is a national centralized repository and resource center for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases across the United States. NamUs helps investigators match long-term missing persons with unidentified remains to resolve cases and bring resolution to families.

  • The National Crime Information Center is a computerized index of missing persons and criminal information and is designed for the rapid exchange of information between criminal justice agencies.

  • Black and Missing Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises awareness to missing persons of color; provides vital resources and tools to missing persons’ families and friends and to educate the minority community on personal safety.

  • The Doe Network is a non-profit organization of volunteers who work with law enforcement to connect missing persons cases with John/Jane Doe cases. They maintain a website about cold cases and unidentified persons, and work to match these with missing persons.

  • The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a private, non-profit corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization.

  • The Missing Persons Center is the world's central reporting agency for missing persons cases, worldwide. The database consists of verifiable missing person cases that can me maintained by the families of missing people and law enforcement. Their online missing persons community supports networking and sharing of resources, tips and press to enable researchers an updated view of all listed profiles and assists in promoting older, cold cases files.

  • The Missing Coalition formed from the need to investigate cases that aren’t yet labelled “cold.” It provides guidance and resources when a loved one goes missing, helps spread awareness of missing persons and collects information to provide investigative and logistical support.

  • The Committee on Enforced Disappearances is the body of independent experts which monitors the implementation of the Convention for the Protection of all Persons against Enforced Disappearance by the States parties.

  • Texas EquuSearch is a nonprofit volunteer search and recovery organization headquartered near Houston, Texas. In addition to horse mounted searches, it also makes use of side scan sonar, ground penetrating radar, boats, aircrafts, drones, and ATVs. Many law enforcement agencies across the United States call on the resources of the organization’s highly skilled searchers to assist in their lost, missing or murder victim cases.

  • The Charley Project profiles over 15,000 “cold case” missing people mainly from the United States. It does not actively investigate cases; it is merely a publicity vehicle for missing people who are often neglected by the press and forgotten all too soon.

  • The Western Michigan University Cold Case Program with the Michigan State Police is an immersive, collaborative experience that equips students with some of the essential skills required for careers in law and law enforcement.
